Stepping out of themselves, entering the kitchen and asking “how do I separate an egg? “, “How do I flip the scallopini without burning myself? “ Their courage brings me back each week; their progress is inspiring. Asking vulnerable questions in the kitchen encourages them to do the same when they step out into the world. When they get the hang of a skill, they can then turn to a buddy who needs assistance. We support each other’s path as well as to share what we have mastered.

Is Addiction to Substances Common?, located steps away from the center of Lexington, spans 4 levels with almost 8000 square feet of living space. All client guest rooms at Tharros are equipped with queen sized Serta Presidential Euro-top premium mattresses and high thread count linens. At Teras, clients work with their on-site case manager and our vocational coach to develop a recovery fellowship and engage work. Clients of Teras may also be involved in outpatient treatment while they develop a foundation in their recovery work, and apply to work positions. After 30 days, clients are expected to be employed while they continue progress in their recovery work.

The ability to spend 6 months to a year in a supportive environment allows you to learn more about yourself and your addiction. Our support program will afford you support while you mend relationships with family and friends. I arrived at my new sober living house in September of 2010. I quickly discovered that my mind’s concept of a controlling environment with supervision and strict management was very different from what I entered into that day.

Zarengar received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, from California School of Professional Psychology and a Psy.D. In psychoanalysis, from the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis. She has a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University and has been a licensed M.F.T since 1988. We also include fun social events, like our weekly BBQ and bowling nights. Clients also learn life skills through one on one mentoring and fun events, like cooking with exceptional private chefs! Also included, our New Beginning Recovery community offers activities, like weekend rock climbing, golf, and basketball. On Saturdays, clients can participate in engagement activities, like trampoline dodgeball, go-kart racing, and escape room challenges.

He worked as an actor and teacher in theBoston area before finding a passion for working with other recovering addicts andalcoholics. Inside of his work at New Beginning Recovery, he has found the empathicconnection and capacity for change he was always looking for in acting. New Beginning Recovery approaches recovery by looking at both abstinence and your life satisfaction/ happiness.

Some guys come naturally to working with dough, while others are more comfortable with a knife. Teras, our flexible structure home, offers a lower cost model for those ready to return to work, and who have their own transportation. There is a saying that “all we need to know we learned in kindergarten”.

This less structured residence is designed to support clients when they have 25+ hours of work or other outside structure weekly, which can be developed with assistance from our team, in the first 30 days. Darren originally joined the New Beginning Recovery team in 2015 after spending 2 years working in the Los Angeles recovery community. In his leadership role at Teras House, Darren interfaces with clients, families, and our support staff. Darren’s primary focus is to promote client development of recovery skills that will serve their long-term sobriety. Darren holds a BA from Stonehill College and was most recently the Assistant Director at New Beginning Recovery.

Each individual is supported to make his own choices in his recovery. Tharros offers an extensive and flexible peer support program to helps clients navigate important changes and decisions. Our team provides support to ongoing clinical work as part of that process. The New Beginning Recovery in Massachusetts is a sober living home where residents live with other people at the same stage of sobriety.
